D Day Remembered

I fear we are rapidly failing as a country to remember our History. Some may say that this example is silly but as I log on today and Google is my homepage,I notice that on today June 6th, there is no patriotic display for D Day.

 I find that a slap in the face by an American company that could not exist if soldiers from our great country had not taken the fight to evil forces across the globe 68 years ago, at great sacrifice. And our greatest generation is dying off every day.
Perhaps its because I'm former soldier, I don't know, seems we wander aimlessly through life as it is, we should remember the key events in our countries history.

 I can find info about a porn star cannibal and allegations that the Miss America pageant was rigged but I have to look to find anything about D Day. And news like the aforementioned bullshit are what has slowed my posting here down. I read the news and just think that this country is heading for a fall, sooner rather than later.

 I'll leave you with Ronald Regan's speech from the D-Day Anniversary 28 years ago. Starts off with a good history lesson of my units lineage and goes on to just sum up the who, what and why.Its worth the time to watch.
