Today's Flotsam and Jetsum

A very good read from Forbes on what Barack could really be all about. It certainly adds to the already scary feeling the guy has given me from day one.   I like the following:

"The real problem with Obama is worse--much worse. But we have been blinded to his real agenda because, across the political spectrum, we all seek to fit him into some version of American history. In the process, we ignore Obama's own history."

And then the author gives us this:

"From the anticolonial perspective, American imperialism is on a rampage. For a while, U.S. power was checked by the Soviet Union, but since the end of the Cold War, America has been the sole superpower. Moreover, 9/11 provided the occasion for America to invade and occupy two countries, Iraq and Afghanistan, and also to seek political and economic domination in the same way the French and the British empires once did. In his worldview, profits are a measure of how effectively you have ripped off the rest of society, and America's power in the world is a measure of how selfishly it consumes the globe's resources and how ruthlessly it bullies and dominates the rest of the planet.

For Obama, the solutions are simple. He must work to wring the neocolonialism out of America and the West. And here is where our anticolonial understanding of Obama really takes off, because it provides a vital key to explaining not only his major policy actions but also the little details that no other theory can adequately account for"

I was glad to see Malkin caught this as well. Interesting to see the race card played not only by democrats but by someone who I guarantee played to her hispanic heritage to get elected.

My guess is, with a name like Van Tranh, the opponent is probably not anti-immigrant as I would have to believe that somewhere in his lineage there was a trek across the Pacific.

No Sanctuary

My guess is THIS happens more often than has been reported.  That being said, good! No Sanctuary for those who have proclaimed their Jihad on the United States.  Just because your standing in one area when your goat smelling ass fires an RPG does not mean your safe from retribution when you run over a ridge line.

The real up roar here is that the gun ships were manned where typically we have been doing it with predator drones.

I could see some concern from the Paki's as they would never allow their arch rival India to pursue some one across their borders but with the amount of aid we have given and the fact that everyone knows the bad guys are hiding and using this area as sanctuary and to plan and launch attacks seems to give us some right to track them down and kill them.

I had a friend tell me to look around at world events and get back with him if I felt we were in WWIII.  I have to believe he is correct.  When you look at the details of THIS and you can link it back to the Haqqani network in Pakistan, and CIA reports believe they can, then you can see how this thought process can be followed.  We are fighting the Taliban in A'stan. We have an Al Queda off shot in Pakistan who is decisively engaged with us in the border regions but they are planning terror attacks in Germany, Paris, the UK and potentially the US?  I would say it resembles the previous two, except currently Uncle Sam is the leading man in this version.

The world continues to be a scary place.
